Simple and straightforward marinade for shish kabobs! I used olive oil vs. veg. along with low sodium soy sauce. For the mustard, I used dijon left out the common salt and cut the pepper in half. I reserved some of the marinade for the veggies and marinated the meat all day in a ziploc pocketbook. I skewered the veggies (calculation some scarlet tomatoes) and meat separate basing the veggies with the reserved marinade. Overall, very tasty!

Worcestershire and soy sauce accept a lot of common salt to begin with, so when I saw calculation more common salt, I passed. This was a expert phone call. In add-on, dissimilar some marinades with soy sauce, this didn't impart an oriental flavor, which I'm not fond of with steak; another plus. The flavors came together well with none dominating some other and with that expert old beef season coming through. I'g a recent convert to marinades, preferring simply seasoned meats, just I'd make this again.

Great beef marinade, the lemon adds a nice twist and some nice flavor. I just had an hour to marinate, so I let them sit in fridge for one/2 hour and on the counter for 1/2 hr. My kabobs turned out great!! Thanks for a great recipe, I'll be using this marinade for patently steak too.
04/08/2015
I made this for an outdoor dinner party for 8 people and doubled the recipe. Used low sodium soy sauce and switched the vegetable oil for olive oil which was perfect! I besides added more veggies such as xanthous squash and zucchini and yellow, red, orange and green peppers. I served the kabobs with basmati rice, a Greek salad and a baguette of freshly broiled french bread. Not merely was the recipe a cute colorful presentation, my guests loved it and actually asked for the extra sauce that was the marinade. Definitely would brand again!

I did everything I could to mess this upward and they withal tasted great. I simply had 4 hours to marinate so I went with that. Then it started raining and I didn't grill. I ended up putting the veggies in a pan and cooking half way washed. Then I threw in the meat and browned information technology. Poured the marinade over brought to a boil and did a quick stir fry. It was succulent and even my picky husband liked it. I served it with Archetype Rice Pilaf on AR by Chef John. Perfect pair. I wouldn't modify a matter.
08/07/2011
The only change I fabricated was to leave out the mushrooms since my family doesn't like them. We marinated the meat a total of 8 hours and served over a bed of wild rice. My eight twelvemonth old had seconds and said this recipe is "a keeper!" We all loved information technology! Thanks for sharing this delicious summer BBQ treat.
08/08/2011
Our first fourth dimension making kabobs. We marinated the meat (but not the mushrooms) in a vacuum-seal bag for 2 hours and ditched the leftover marinade rather than saving for basting. Turned out corking!
01/31/2012
There is a mistake that about people do, the shish kabob are no the i in the photo. Actually the shish is the thing that we apply to grill meat (the wooden stick inthe picture). The kabobs, in arabic kabab, is ground meat with garlic and special spices for the kabab. Anyway the one in the pic is only called grilled meat, and we normally grill with it onions. Bon appetit.

Made this final night - a huge hit! I marinated the beefiness (used tenderloin) and mushrooms separately. I too left out the extra table salt and no one added common salt at the dinner table. I as well used divide skewers for the encounter and vegetables, and so I could control the cooking a bit better - veggies cooked at medium and beefiness on high. The butcher mentioned that the tenderloin could get tough if overcooked - cooked it for about 10 minutes and it was perfect - medium rare. Used the marinade from the mushrooms for basting on the grill.
05/27/2016
It was ok simply I'm sure my (not so great) cooking had a lot to do with it. My meat manager suggested using a sirloin steak that was on sale. That cut wasn't hearty plenty. Can anyone advise the cut of beefiness for kabobs? Cheers.
09/03/2011
This marinade is awesome!!The ingredients are not overpowering yet they just enhance the splendid flavor of the kabobs.I will apply this recipe again and for other beef dishes!
04/17/2014
i love this marinade, but instead of marinating the meat for 8 hours and so adding the mushrooms for another 8 hours i just fabricated a double batch of marinade, and put the mushrooms in another baggie and did them together for viii hours, turned out wonderful
01/19/2012
Perfect marinade! I've used this a couple of times now and everybody loves it! The only change I make is to reduce the common salt--I use a heavy 1/2 teaspoon. I marinate the meat as long as I tin can--sometimes merely a half a twenty-four hours and information technology comes out tender and flavorful! Definitely a keeper!
10/22/2014
Super easy marinade! All of these ingredients are staples in our household. I currently have filet chunks marinating for kabobs...everything smelled slap-up, then I expect they'll gustation even better. I ditched the additional salt since the soy/'shire/mustard combo take high common salt contents. Set to burn upward the grill...
07/04/2012
VERY tasty marinade! Made several times, each a big hit with everyone. Changes I made was omit the salt, added a nuance of hot sauce, and added some red pepper flakes. Definitely a keeper.
04/xviii/2015
Beloved this recipe. But skillful meat is a must. We bought a steak the first time, marinaded information technology for ii hours and it was amazing. The 2d time we used a roast, marinaded it for 24 hours and information technology was too chewy for united states of america to finish.
ten/06/2013
This is i of my favorite recipes for Shish Kabobs! I as well love it with chicken.
05/24/2013
The flavour is proficient, but quite strong. I would get with just marinating and no basting, or no marinating and just basting. The veggie skewers (which I did split from the meat), I basted a couple times through grilling and they were perfect!
01/07/2015
Many times at present best on the grill but still great in the broiler in winter months.
07/05/2013
When my husband took a seize with teeth of this he just stood in that location, broad-eyed and his mouth agape in disbelief at how good this was. Definitely going to be making this over again and once again. It was already very salty without adding the salt. I as well put some summer squash and cerise tomatoes on the skewers. Elevation round worked actually well for this recipe.
04/03/2015
The season of this is amazing. Good cooked nether a broiler when I don't want to employ the grill. Serve over rice.
02/eleven/2015
Delicious! I followed the recipe exactly. I nigh got lazy and threw out the excess marinade, but I was then glad I didn't. Heated up, it made a great gravy. I really used my broiler instead of a grill, only it worked perfectly.
07/24/2013
This is probably the best recipe I have found on this website! The marinade is and so versatile. I use the marinade on only the vegetables most of the time and it comes out so fantastic. I have relatives over and they all wanted to take this recipe dwelling house with them. I recently used the marinade on some pork loin and beefiness for kabobs and it just infuses the meat with then much flavor. My only tip when making this recipe is to cut the vegetables in giant chunks and then that when you start to get to the lesser of the bowl, you don't loose the ingredients in the marinade. This is because there will exist a lot left over on the lesser. Like I said, I dear this recipe and I volition be using it for my upcoming wedding!
06/01/2013
memorial day hitting, marinated the steak for ane 1/2 days and turned everytime I opened the fridge. Meat was tender. I used sirloin steak cut into cubes. Very practiced will make again for sure.
09/21/2014
I followed the recipe and my family unit loved it! This would also exist a bang-up marinade for a cheap or tough piece of meat.
05/17/2016
We made this dish for company and it was succulent-ate the leftovers warmed upward in a pita with Tzatziki sauce. Yum!!
02/21/2012
Awesome! I followed the recipe as written, w/the exception of the black pepper (I hate it) and I chose non to marinate my veggies, merely the beef. Awesome. Did I say that already? Our meat was even a bit tough (not the best cut of meat to use for this) and it was still awesome. Great flavor that enhanced the natural beef flavor. This will exist a staple beef marinade in the LTH house. THANKS so much mnmike!
12/28/2016
I've used this marinade dozens of times to rave reviews every single time. I prefer to allow the meat marinade for only 2-four hours. I detect that it only tastes like marinade if I permit it become the 8+ hours the recipe recommends. I like meat to sense of taste like meat. Using a shorter marinade fourth dimension only enhances the flavor instead of irresolute it. I normally use it with beef but it also works well with chicken.
03/15/2015
Oh MY Gosh! This is absolutely crazy good. Don't hesitate to effort it. I love that it'due south just everyday ingredients we all have in the firm, no special trips to forage for weird ingredients. Merely practiced ordinary food. I can't wait to make this once again.
07/26/2016
Proceed this 1 handy. It's a definite keeper. Nosotros used NY strips the beginning time then ribeyes the second fourth dimension. Both were excellent.
05/thirty/2016
Marinated overnight and added the mushrooms (as well every bit some eggplant cubes which I salted and allowed to "sweat" before adding to the marinade) in the morning time. Super tasty
08/10/2014
I dearest this recipe! This has become my go-to marinade. I've made information technology endless times over about 5 years. Everyone is blown away when I employ this marinade. I do recommend using a meat mallet on tougher meats though
09/05/2014
The marinade tasted awesome,it gave the meat a really good taste. We cooked the shish kebabs on a small charcoal grill,so it took a bit longer(like approx. 45mins). Thanks for the receipe idea!
05/27/2013
Was hesitant to follow this recipe, but because it didn't take as many reviews every bit some other recipe, but I'thousand glad I did. It was delicious. Used all the ingredients exactly as listed except mushrooms, and only marinated the top sirloin near iv-1/two hrs. I also didn't baste the meat, but didn't need to, it turned out great. Used green peppers, onions, Campari tomatoes, yellow squash and light-green zucchini. Will use this recipe once again.
06/08/2014
Just modify I made was to Non add the salt. Unless the original recipe called for depression-sodium soy sauce, no extra table salt is needed. In fact, we thought it was still on the salty side and so next time I will try it with depression sodium soy sauce and add but salt to taste. I skewered the mushrooms and meat together and the onion and pepper seperately so the veggies could cook longer. Everyone here enjoyed this after about x hours of full marinade time. Definitely making this again!
08/31/2013
This was an excellent marinade! We pretty much followed it verbatim and used some different veggies. I would probably use reduce sodium soy sauce the next time we make it however because information technology was just a little on the salty side for our gustation, but it was nevertheless very tasty.
05/25/2015
Was so easy and really yummy. I used sirloin too as LAMB (then so good!!). I added a bigger selection of vegetables; listed veggies plus whole mini red, yellowish and orange bong peppers, zucchini and snap peas and bacon wrapped whole pearl onions (yum). I also used separate skewers for the meat and veggies to improve command melt time for each. Served over jasmine rice and all my kids and husband loves them. Will definitely make these once more!!!
05/01/2012
Very good.
08/01/2016
These are amazing! I used to use a dissimilar marinade simply I wanted to attempt something else and I'yard so glad I did. I just loved this marinade and so did the rest of the family unit. Due to a few people in our family having sodium restricted diets, I used 'sweet soy' and left out the additional salt. Someone asked what blazon of beefiness to employ for shish kabobs and I ever use stew meat. This will be my go-to recipe from now on when grilling shish kabobs. It's important to use the remainder of the marinade for basting, similar the recipe suggests. It really put information technology over the peak!
09/29/2015
Fabricated this a few times now, and the whole family quite likes it. The other times I only marinated the meat for a couple hours and the mushrooms not at all - this time, however; I marinated the full time and the mushrooms as well. I will definitely marinate the mushrooms from now on - so much better! The meat I establish was too salty marinating for the total time though, and then I think I'll cutting the salt in half adjacent time.
09/25/2016
Very delicious! I did not add together whatsoever common salt as no need with some of the ingredients being salty enough, used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, dijon mustard, low sodium soy sauce, sirloin steak. I did add together pineapple and cherry tomatoes to the kabobs. We all loved the flavor! Volition definitely utilise this recipe again! Cheers for sharing!
03/20/2017
Added red pepper flakes to requite it a kicking
09/18/2017
just made this recipe tonight and did not change a thing! Everybody loved it ! The meat was very tender and the flavor was amazing. The edges of the meat and veggies were brown and crispy while the rest was perfectly cooked. Tip: If yous are using skewers that are larger than the thin bamboo ones, make sure you cut your veggies pretty large. And make sure you go large mushrooms. I sliced an average red and green bong pepper into fourths and and then cut each one of those in half. If veggies are too pocket-size they split and fall of skewers. I will be making these once again for sure.
09/27/2016
Like others on hither I used olive oil vs vegetable oil, I used low sodium soy and sea common salt vs table salt...the marinade is i I volition exist using for EVERYTHING now...and so good, I marinated overnight. My only problem was my veggies weren't every bit done as I would have liked them(I used zucchini, summertime squash, red bell peppers and onion and potatoes) I par boiled the potatoes before I skewered them and so thankfully those were perfect! Also has anyone tried stew meat for this? Our meat got a little likewise tough, The cutting I bought was Texas style something because they didn't accept sirloin.
08/03/2019
I didn't add the salt, thank goodness. It's still a little too salty but that could be my pregnancy taste buds considering this is pretty close to my ain steak marinade. Anyways, I added five or six shakes of basil, cut down on the lemon a tad flake and added two cloves of garlic. All in all my whole family unit was very happy with information technology, and so that makes me very happy with it. (Minus the super salty flavor, but again I blame the pregnancy)
06/18/2018
The proportions are off in this recipe. I made nine skewers and in that location was not enough marinade for all of the beef and vegetables. Marinade is besides very ho-hum so I added one tbsp of sesame oil, another 1/4 cup of olive oil, lime juice and zest instead of lemon (lime and beef go much improve together than lemon), 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of Asian Sesame Vinaigrette salad dressing, i/4 cup of chocolate-brown sugar. This was a drastic flavour improvement and besides increased the amount of marinade. Exercise not skimp on the salt and pepper, the meat and vegetables need the seasoning. A big bowl works fine, there is no need to waste matter plastic numberless for the marinade. I parboiled the onions and red peppers for near v minutes to soften them a little otherwise with simply xv minutes on the grill you end upwards with raw vegetables on your skewers which I think is gross. I do not bask bitter into a chunk of raw onion. Trust me on the parboil method. You do not desire to boil them to mush or you tin't skewer them. By doing this, the onions and peppers finish cooking on the grill and the onions in particular can start to caramelize a flake. I only used vidalia onions, mushroom caps and carmine peppers as green peppers can be too biting. fifteen minutes on the grill and the marinade turned into basting sauce, these ended upward very good. It would not have been a success if the vegetables went on the grill raw. Be sure you boil the leftover marinade if you plan on using it as basting sauce or yous volition be basting your skewers
08/12/2014
It was good merely alittle salty for my taste. Adjacent time I will use low sodium soy.
09/22/2014
This recipe is our to go to when we are looking for a quick yummy dinner. At present that information technology is summer I'yard calculation fresh peppers from the garden. Thank you for sharing this recipe
06/23/2014
Made these for our camping trip and they were a striking! I had the beef marinating in a ziplock pocketbook and the veggies all done and cut up in another ziplock. When I got there I put them on the skewers and they cooked quickly and were delicious!
05/26/2016
This was a final minute decision to have beef kabobs so I could only marinate for 2 1/2 and it was withal very flavorful. I followed recipe except added pineapple chunks instead of mushrooms since I didn't have mushrooms. Put everything (except pineapples) in null bag, seasoned with Goya seasoning, then added the marinade and let sit in refrigerator for 2 1/ii hrs. Put them on skewers and baked in a pre-heated broiler for 8 minutes each side. Served over beef flavored rice. Added corn on the cob every bit a side. Actually quick meal and even quicker if you are marinating the day before! This is a keeper.
04/14/2013
My family actually liked it, although we all agreed it was a tad too salty, and that was subsequently I reduced the salt. I would suggest completely removing the salt from the recipe, equally most soya sauces are salty enough to carry this recipe. I retrieve I will add a lilliputian more naught to information technology next time with some dried chili peppers. All in all though, quite satisfactory.
07/xi/2019
Nosotros followed the recipe here and information technology turned out beautifully. The steak was tender and juicy, the vegetables were great and the Mushrooms were dynamite.
10/07/2016
This is a great recipe! I skewered the veges separately from the meat and mushrooms, Grilled the veges for 6 or seven minutes then moved them to the other side of the grill to finish cooking away from the coals. I put the steak and mushroom skewers on and cooked them for about 4 mins on each side. Soooooo good! Cheers Mnmike, your Mom was right on!
06/29/2012
First-class! Didn't change a affair and wouldn't even try!
05/03/2015
This recipe was excellent. I didn't have enough regular soy sauce then I used sweet soy sauce.
01/sixteen/2017
Made marinade as instructed. Used both elevation sirloin and chicken and marinaded overnight. Otherwise, followed directions and it was awesome!!! Served it over an olive oil and garlic wheat cous cous!! This is a keeper!!!!
04/07/2015
These tasted and so flavorful but a little too salty practice NOT add the one i/2 tsp table salt.
07/21/2019
Not bad recipe every bit is. Longer marinating time makes the meat more tender.
08/03/2012
Oustanding. I made this recipes exactly every bit written except marinated meat for just almost 4 hours. Delicious! Thanks
09/xviii/2016
I omitted the salt. The Soy sauce in it is salty plenty. It was astonishing! We fifty-fifty used it on our shrimp, chicken & beef kabobs. Succulent!
ten/29/2015
Give thanks yous for sharing!!!! My family & friends loves this recipe. I didn't change anything. We fifty-fifty use this our stakes.
07/15/2015
I made this twice, I had a lot of compliments. Information technology's very good, makes even ranch steak tender
05/10/2013
So and so so skilful. Used sirloin. The marinade is delicious!
07/29/2017
I made this today. I thought it was very good. Like some of the other reviews I did not add common salt. Next time I would effort low sodium soya sauce. This is a keeper.
08/06/2013
This was very tasty ! I unremarkably just marinate the beef in italian dressing, but this was a one thousand thousand times amend. Was not sure about the soy sauce (I dont normally intendance for the taste}. But this was astonishing!! Will definitely utilise over again for other beefiness recipes.
06/21/2013
I tried this marinade last night and it was a big striking with my family. Both of my extremely fussy children had 2nd helpings of the steak! I made a few tweaks by omitting the mushrooms, doubling the lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce, and cutting the salt in one-half. All in all an excellent recipe. Thank you for sharing!
11/22/2018
Elementary and tasty - exactly how grilling should be. Be sure to marinate every bit written for good flavour.
06/22/2015
I made these for my family and they loved them fifty-fifty the i's who don't like this type of food ate the out of them! We used the exact recipe and it was so yummy nosotros couldn't stop eating them!!! Thanks
04/12/2013
Alright. My husband doesn't desire it once again tho.
07/27/2017
Was and so good, fabricated it once again few days later. Definitely saved this one!
11/29/2015
Friggen awesome! Fabricated these for a bunch of racers after a triathlon and information technology was heaven on globe, they were very well received.
02/15/2014
I was searching for a marinade that sounded good and this hit the spot. I, like many others, omitted the boosted common salt and I was running low on lemon juice so I used less than what was called for. Also, because I actually enjoy ginger, I added several tablesppons of fresh grated ginger. The recipe adjuster made information technology very piece of cake for me to tweak for the group I needed to melt for (kabob for 50+)! Very impressed with the marinade and I conceptualize I will use it frequently in the future
04/30/2020
these were good, like shooting fish in a barrel to make.
04/24/2017
Made this for my husband with cubed boneless short ribs.cubed. Use lime juice instead of lemon and no salt. My husband loved it. Said it was one of the best marinades ever. volition definitely make again for shish k-bobs and other meat Than y'all.
05/31/2019
Information technology'south just okay. I so wanted to like this recipe. I followed some of the other reviewers advice and omitted the table salt but I recollect information technology needed the salt. Information technology was rather bland. I marinated in the sauce for near 12 hours and so grilled them. Any leftover meat and vegetables I didn't put on the grill, I combined with the chicken and vegetables from the "yummy beloved chicken kebabs" recipe and marinated another several hours. I then sautéed these together and added hoisin sauce and oyster sauce, salt, sesame oil, minced garlic, and olive oil. Information technology was ameliorate. I doubt I would try this once more.
12/08/2017
I thought it was a trivial biting. Would not brand again
05/xi/2014
Absolutely love this!! Has a wonderful season and my married man and kids (picky eaters) had seconds! Has anyone tried this with chicken? I'm curious to know how it came out!
07/21/2017
This tastes fantastic! I used top beef sirloin. The only thing I did differently was marinade both the meat and mushrooms together for about 6 hours because I didn't take plenty time to marinate equally the recipe states.
xi/10/2017
Why would you lot add so much salt when you lot have already Soy Sauce which is very salty to begin with? Likewise why would you use vegetable oil instead of olive oil? Likewise you need some balsamic vinegar or cooking wine vinegar to balance this out. The lemon juice will not be enough.
07/31/2018
It was ok. Non actually worth all the prep
11/11/2017
Recipe was perfection. Huge hit with our guests. Will definitely make information technology again
06/25/2015
it was succulent! we didnt fifty-fifty marinade for so long so i can imagine how delicous with longer time in the flavour!
09/09/2016
I made this dish for Labor Day and everybody loved it. I will be making this again just with a steak!
05/06/2013
Thought these were smashing!! Did not add the table salt. Never add Salt to anything that uses that much soy sauce. Too chose to use low sodium soy sauce.
09/12/2017
I added a little honey!
07/21/2016
Awesome!
06/09/2017
This is delicious!!! I honey the flavor of the marinade. I actually splurged and made this with filet mignon. It was then piece of cake to cut the meat and the kabobs were super yummy. Great recipe.
07/10/2019
Excellent recipe! Followed the directions. Enjoyed this very much. Very easy. Great results. I would make this i once again, and again. Really enjoyed it. Just make sure that you marinate your meet long enough (depending on the cutting). I would definitely serve this to visitor with lots of veggies on the skewers. Thanks for posting!
04/25/2016
Fantastic exactly as is! I've used this marinade for pork tenderloin likewise, really skilful. I'yard besides incredibly lazy so instead of making proper kebabs I've recently started mixing everything in a 9x13 pan with some of the marinade and broiling it, turning over oft. Cracking flavor, volition use once again and again and again!
10/08/2018
I made this last night and it was delicious! I simply had fourth dimension to marinate for a couple of hours, so I imagine information technology would be even better with more time. Highly recommend.
05/22/2017
The only change I would brand is to double the sauce. Spouse said information technology was the all-time kabobs I have always fabricated!!
07/05/2016
This was so proficient! I tripled it for 12 people, and they ate all of it. Will make information technology once again. The steak and mushrooms in the marinade was succulent. This marinade actually brings out the steak flavor, The only change I made was on accident I increased the Worcestershire sauce and it notwithstanding came out smashing!
06/01/2017
These were amazing. I would recommend.
07/eighteen/2019
Wonderful!!! Adjacent time, I'k deleting the table salt. My husband said it was perfect. It was a lilliputian salty to me. I did add together squash to the skewers. It was a hit!
07/07/2014
It a swell recipe!
10/05/2019
Followed the recipe and information technology came out great with a strong flavour. Only marinaded the top sirloin cut upwards into cubes for 4 hours and that was plenty of time.
03/26/2019
fantastic! followed the recipe except i didn't marinate the mushrooms. i had leftover ingredients and nearly made them again the next night! this is a keeper!
06/27/2015
I cut out the salt and volition make information technology again family loved it
02/05/2014
Very good. I omitted the extra salt besides and it was still was a little too salty, adjacent fourth dimension employ depression sodium soya. Will definitely make information technology again.
